Connectivity to your vehicle is a must when looking at vehicle technology whether it be Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. This is desirable because it allows music to be played through your car speakers from your phone playlist. Apple CarPlay goes a step further with hands-free calling and use of maps. Honda’s new sound system allows music to be played outside in the back of a pickup truck. This is great for sporting events and everyday work outside. There is also compatibility for a TV to plug in. Another interesting innovation according to US News is the ability for a self-driving vehicle or at least one that can park itself. Tesla has already begun with this new technology along with Ford, Volvo, and Mercedes-Benz.
Security and Safety
Increased security is also a desirable quality when choosing which vehicle to purchase. Safety is a huge factor when looking at different cars. One new technology is Volvo’s safety technology. Previously, Volvo City Safety assisted a driver with speed and warnings about moving objects. Now this technology includes animal warnings when driving in the countryside. If the driver does not begin stopping, the vehicle stops itself. Blind spot monitoring and reverse cameras provide safety when a driver might not be able to see. This keeps the driver as well as others safe on the roadway and more aware of his or her surroundings.
Technology for Driving
WiFi compatibility is also a new and cool technology because it allows you to have a laptop or tablet within your vehicle and use it when you’re not driving. Audi vehicles are one example of this using SIM cards. Many vehicles offer cordless charging when your phone runs out of battery after a long day at work or school. Another important innovation is the ability to respond to texts and calls by speaking to the car according to Business Insider. Audi has come up with a new, revolutionary update to the dashboard cluster making it a screen instead of dials. Night vision is another feature within the Audis as well as BMW, Cadillac, and Mercedes-Benz. This warns the driver when an object is in front of the vehicle.
