Today’s article is going to discuss different sports cars that are not outrageously expensive. Normally, you would read about Camaros, Mustangs, and Challengers, but I will discuss other sports cars that are less commonly thought of. It will include prices as well as horsepower and why these vehicles made the list.
1. Honda Civic
Between the two models, Type R and Si, Honda leaves some room for choice with sports cars. The Si model has 205 horsepower and makes a statement when driving. With the raised lip and sharp edges, the car looks great. With only a starting price of $23,900 this car is affordable and eye catching.
Now, let’s discuss the more expensive model, Type R, with 51 more horsepower and an added $10K. This model has a hatchback and a more powerful engine (2.0L turbo 4-cylinder vs 1.5L turbo 4-cylinder). The red outlines add a sense of sportiness to the already unique look. Overall, these two models are great, but I would go for the Honda Civic Si because in my opinion, it is not worth $10,000 extra at $33,900 to get red outlines and a little more horsepower.
2. VW Golf GTI
This car is one of VW’s sportiest designs. The lights and wheels add a sense of sportiness to the VW Golf GTI. The lines and red stripe through the grill adds a sense of distinction to this car. At $25,595, this is already $8,305 less expensive than the Civic Type R. With 210 horsepower, the Golf GTI has a similar engine to the Honda. Overall, this Golf is a great buy for the sportiness and lower price.
3. Mazda Miata
Starting at $23,915, this car is a great deal. The lines as well as the lights are eye-catching features on the Mazda Miata. Also, this model is a convertible. 155 horsepower allow this 4-cylinder engine to go from 0-60mph in 6.1 seconds according to Car and Driver. Mazda did well with this car; however, one feature I do not like is the antenna. Nowadays, most cars don’t have one because it looks dated. Overall though, this is a great car for the money.
